After Pierre Hardy worked as a shoe designer at Christian Dior, the Creative Designer for the women’s shoe line at Hermes and collaborating with Nicolas Ghesquière at Balenciaga to develop a shoe collection, Pierre Hardy ventured out on his own. Launching his namesake line of shoes in 1999, and eventually in the winter season of 2006 launched his handbag collection. As a bag designer, Pierre Hardy is strongly against “useless, overweight hardware” that lots of bags use to create a signature look, which is one of the main reasons why I have recently became such a fan of his collection.
The 61 Clutch Bag is one of his signature styles. For the winter season, he updated the striped and lizard-embossed leather panels in metallic tones. A beautiful and totally universal combination of gunmetal, gleaming gold, metallic silver lizard. I know there are a lot of you out there that say, hey gold & silver when does that ever work? Well, this is a great example of combining those two metal-tones where it actually works!
