Does anyone remember the paillette-embellished handbags a couple of years ago? They were typically shapeless sacks covered from top to bottom with those ridiculously over-sized sequins. I remember them being very popular among all the teenagers and twenty-somethings. And although I fell into that age group, I had absolutely no intentions of carrying around a deflated disco ball. So you can understand why I was apprehensive with the whole idea of Miu Miu coming out with a paillette-embellished bag. It’s called the Miu Miu Ombré Paillette-Embellished Clutch. But you know what? Oh my gosh, I can’t believe I’m saying this… but this clutch is actually pretty darn cute. I really like how an ombré effect was created with different colored sequins. The burgundies, pinks, and reds shimmer so beautifully. This clutch is anything but a disco ball! I think I might be changing my mind about paillette-embellished accessories, especially where this lovely clutch is concerned. While they may look awkward and gawdy on a daytime bag, paillettes look perfectly fine on this tiny evening bag. So check this lovely piece out ladies, you might find yourself pleasantly surprised. The Wall Street Journal has recently reported that Prada’s sister brand, Miu Miu has departed from many U.S. department stores as a result of a disagreement of how the secondary brand should be displayed. The company wanted their own store-in-stores, while the department stores wanted to mix Miu Miu in with all the other high-end bags.

The Prada House launched the Miu Miu line in 1992. The cheaper line was created for the younger generation. Miuccia Prada’s nickname is Miu Miu.

Here’s an item that would rank on the top of my list of handbags I would never be caught wearing. Meet the Patent Leather Basket Tote by Miu Miu. Attention satchel lovers, Italian based brand Miu Miu has presented a nice and feminine satchel that’s perfect for your spring/summer wardrobe this season. Just take a look at the many features found on this piece with my favorite definitely being the pretty blue grey leather! I can’t get over how gorgeous the color is, and as I mentioned earlier, how awesome would this powder blue hue go with your summery wardrobe.

I love how the color hugs the crinkled and buttery soft calf leather that makes up this satchel. Rich, gold toned hardware can be found ascending this satchel from the rivets to it’s dangling lock charm. Double rolled leather handles allow this piece to be carried at the crook of the arm or on the shoulder by means of the detachable body strap that’s included. I must mention how this satchel is not only pretty from the outside. It’s interior is lined in rich purple satin lining, which compliments everything beautifully. A pair of snap grommets are found in place of a zipper, and side buckles give more flirty crinkle and pleats.

Miu Miu Vitello Bag @ Overstock
Overstocked with dated but authentic designer pieces are our friends over at Overstock (dot com). In the past, I’ve missed out on limited and seasonal designer stuff due to low finances in the bag account, but when I’ve got some cash to spare, I count on the sites inventory in hopes of finding what I previously hoped for. What a perfect hue to compliment any holiday get together this season. The striking shade of red presented to us by Miu Miu on their Vitello Large Tote is a winner in my book. It’s rich and sophisticated, just like that perfect shade of nail polish I adore. Of course, the satchel shape of this piece is great, and I love the oversized flap and locking closure. Versatility in wearing this bag is available, as you can carry this piece on the crook of the arm, or on the shoulder with the attached body strap. Are there any other fans of the Vitello tote? I can’t give you the original retail value of this piece, but I can tell you that you can find this Miu Miu via the Internet for $0.01 less of a thousand bucks.
