Miu Miu Cutout Bowling Bag
I’m a fan of bowler style handbags and I truly admire Miu Miu but why don’t I like this bag? The Cutout Bowling Bag is its name and I don’t absolutely hate it, but you sure wont find this listed on my wish list, either. I always find Miu Miu handbags to be luxurious, sporting rich leathers in fun silhouettes. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel this bowler lacks all of the above. Lack of smooshy Miu Miu leather and the limited amount of shiny hardware keep me from finding interest in this piece. As for the cutouts, I find them to be a bit awkward. Yes, I can see how it gives the bowler character, but for now, I’ll leave cutouts OUT of my bags. $1,430 is what the price tag reads, and that itself really isn’t convincing enough. I can name a couple of Miu Miu bags worth that price, but I can’t see myself splurging on this one. Maybe it’s the neutral-toned hues that don’t allow this bag to stand out as much. Do you think a splash of color would have bettered this bag? Or do you dig the retro feeling of this piece?

SALE ALERT: Miu Miu Nappa Frame Bag
Have you visited Saks.com lately? They are having a great sale going on and everyday, they seem to put up new bags for much less than retail. One bag that I came across is the Nappa Frame Bag by Miu Miu in a gorgeous red shade called Rosso. I really admire the vintage-like characteristics this bag has, such as the frame top with a push-lock and buckle closure. And the color is great because it’s so vibrant, but not too bright at the same time. Also, the golden harware details elegantly compliment the red nappa leather.

Back to the sale: this bag just popped up on Saks.com and is marked down to $749.65 from $1595, which is an awesome amount of savings and is definitely worth it in my opinion. You can comfortably fit this one over your shoulder since the double strap measures 7″ in drop length. Also there is plenty of room for everything you need to carry! This one’s size is 23″W X 18″H X 8″D, which is on the bigger side. There is even an exterior pocket underneath the front flap and an interior zip pocket so you can organize the smaller things you need to carry. But anyways, this bag is a steal at it’s new mark down!

Patchwork Leather Bags
One of the latest trends in bags is the patchwork leather pattern. The patches come in all different sizes and colors and give the bag a unique, funky, and eclectic look. The patches look quilted and feature thick stitching. These bags are very detailed and express a vibrant style to add to any everyday outfit to give it a fresh new look. They are a new take on the hobo chic handbags.

Miu Miu Dragonfly Clutch
So how do you ladies feel about bugs on bags? Are they pretty? Or creepy? Or pretty creepy? LOL! Pictured above is the Miu Miu Dragonfly Clutch from the Spring 2008 Collection. The clutch features a whimsical dragonfly on the front in pretty hues of pink and lavender. Plus python inserts were used to create some texture and depth. Interestingly, I just now discovered that this clutch also features a metal fold-away handle and a shoe-string strap while browsing over at Net-A-Porter. Its funny really, there have been many times I’ve seen pictures of this clutch and all that time I never noticed it. Oh well, I guess its a good thing that Net-A-Porter provides such detailed pictures, huh?

So you ladies haven’t answered me yet (well, actually you probably have). How do you feel about the dragonfly? Personally, I don’t think this clutch is horrible but I don’t think I would be brave enough to carry it either. I don’t know. I guess it is better than, say, an octopus! So I guess whether you like bugs on bags or you don’t, you certainly have to hand it to Miuccia Prada for her creativity!

Miu Miu Woven Leather Hobo Bag
Of course with the extravagant net-a-porter sale on dozens of last seasons designer handbags, it was only a matter a time before the new batch of spring / summer Miu Miu purses swept in and took over.

One of the latest new additions is the Miu Miu woven fringe hobo. The hobo is dressed in a woven pattern body and features double trails of fringe down each side. Not as dramatic as Miu Miu’s distant relatives version* – Prada’s Nappa Weave Flap Hobo. Still I have never been a fan of tassel fringe. I would get the urge to pull out the scissors and start snipping away. Or at least avoid this bag all together. What do you guys think? A hit or miss?
