Prada Cabochon & Rhinestone Raso Clutch

Prada hasn’t really been on my radar these last few months, maybe even longer. Those basic structured pieces are fab for sure. But after seeing the same thing over and over again, you kind of start just glancing over them as you browse through the sea of handbags. So it’s nice to see Prada coming out with some more unusual designs. Check this one out, for example. It certainly is an eye-catcher! Introducing the Prada Blue Cabochon & Rhinestone Raso Clutch!

Favorite Online Store Zappos!

Whenever I’m on the internet searching for fashionable accessories, I always go to Zappos. Zappos has a great selection of designers and the best part about them is that they don’t charge you tax or shipping! No tax or shipping in this economy helps a lot! Whenever I’m looking for anything fashion related, I always check to see if Zappos has it first. Tax is never so bad but the shipping some websites charge is ridiculous especially when you’re buying something so small.

CC Skye Leight Luxe Fringe Bag

CC Skye has always been on my hot list! This designer is always one step ahead of the latest trends, bringing us fresh new looks season after season. Her handbags are “edgy but elegant”, perfect for anyone looking for an upbeat style to lighten their mood. Not all CC Skye handbags feature fringe, but many have in the past. It has almost become a trademark. Plus I am a bit partial to fringe! So it really is no wonder I was drawn to the CC Skye Leight Luxe Fringe Bag!

Proenza Schouler PS1

I know what you’re thinking. Why would I pick such an “ordinary” handbag as my favorite of 2011? Let’s face it, I absolutely love bright colors and unusual designs when it comes to handbags. Or at the very least, some funky hardware (Hello, Alexander Wang!). I write about them all the time. Sure they are fun, but truly loving a handbag long-term requires a little bit more than just bells and whistles. It has to be timeless and practical enough to wear with just about anything. This is why I chose the Proenza Schouler PS1 Large Satchel as my top pick for 2011!

Favorite Designer Alexander McQueen

On February 11, 2010 tragedy struck the fashion world. Paramedics were rushed to McQueen’s home, where he was pronounced dead at the scene. If you have a true love and passion for fashion chances are you were saddened by the news. I personally do not own anything by Alexander McQueen but I found a shirt with a skull on it in my closet and you better believe I wore it. I was sure to wear the shirt on the day he was pronounced dead and the day of his funeral. Alexander McQueen was and still is one of my all time favorite fashion designers, it was the least I could do.

Bag Color Trend: Mellow Yellow

Winter has just begun, but the fashion world is already thinking about spring. Every year, it seems there is a new IT color. For Spring 2012, I’m going to guess that color is Lemon Yellow! Why? My first clue was the fact that online shops are already littered with this sunny hue. Clothing, shoes, accessories… you name it. I’m not sure if I would be daring enough to wear a dress in this color. However, I do happen to think it looks dashing on a handbag. In fact, I have a Treesje Mini Asher in Lemon and I absolutely adore it. It’s bright, fun, and adds a little pop to those dreary winter months. Plus it looks so cheery with more colorful pieces during the spring and summer! So it looks like I’ll be carrying that bag with pride this year, even though it has already been well loved! But what about this new stuff I mentioned earlier? If you’re wanting to take part in the color trend, you should definitely check it out. Here are a couple of pieces from the current selection!

Bottega Veneta Intrecciato Bag in Sunset

Alexander McQueen Cathedral Architecture Box Clutch

2011 was a year that I fell in love with clutches. Unfortunately, I only have one but boy did I do a lot of window shopping. The most beautiful clutch I saw in 2011 was the Alexander McQueen “Cathedral” Clutch. As soon as I saw it, I fell in love. It was gorgeous, stunning and classy with a capital C. The McQueen brand always releases beautiful clutches but the brand really out did themselves with the “Cathedral”. The “Skull Box” Clutches are always a favorite of mine but I think this one kills them all. I’ve never seen a clutch quite like this and if I could have I would of bought it in a heart beat.
