Prada bags have fairly classic styling. It’s not difficult to identify them when you catch a glimpse of one of their bags. That’s not the case with their Spring offerings. A marriage of materials with a touch of whimsy are eye-catching and just the right transition into resort.

The Lino Twist Frame Shoulder Bags offer a blend of linen, lambskin, python or croc accents in a way that just happens to work. These are smaller bags in the 10″ x 7 ” X 3″ or 11″ x 6″ x 4″ range. Perfect for luncheons or that evening yacht club party. Personally, I think you could pull it off with some sophisticated dark denim and darling tops suitable for cocktails.

The turquoise and lime green accents are going to be two of the major colors of the season. Prada is right on trend with that selection. With the Fall season coming, I’m looking for a new color palette. Rich plums, deep blues, subtle grays, and even forest green. This apple-ish green shade is a real surprise, but somehow it works! The fabulous house of Prada never fails to come up with something a little bit different and interesting.

The Prada Vitello Shine Satchel follows the current trend of satchel styles with lots of “pop”. Smaller in size than the working satchel, it’s 10″ x 9″ x 7″ size is simply perfect for day to day useage. The square-ish shape is softened with rounded corners and is a great silhouette that mixes the styling of lady-like doctor’s bags with a bit of edge. Two outside pockets provide design interest and functionality. A long adjustable strap with 14″ to 18″ drop provides a comfortable hands-free option to the lustrous, rolled double-handles.

I adore texture on handbags and woven leather is my absolute favorite. The texture is interesting and provides a lot of detail without hardware, pockets or chains. It is a classic technique with casual edge. One that I can fall in love with over and over again.

When I first saw this bag, it was love at first sight! While we do not expect this technique with Prada handbags, the iconic brand has stepped outside it’s traditional styling and done something new and very interesting! This amazing clutch is completely hand woven in a unique way that resembles knitting. The use of super-soft leather is unique and surprising. I would have never imagined that one day high-end designers would be inspired to make their goods out of the globally recognizable prints of camouflage. Then it happened with the unexpected designs of the House of Vuitton with the collaboration of Takashi Murakami when they presented to the world the Monogramouflage line.

Whether you liked or hated it, it was an instant hit via the Internet and with the celebrities that proudly carried them. Now fast forward a couple of seasons and camouflage prints have not left the runway just yet. Just take a look at the Tessuto Camouflage Tote; the Italian version of an everyday bag meets military chic prints by the House of Prada.

I’m not picking favorites, but I like how the colors of this tote is supple, making it easier to mix-and-match with your everyday wardrobe. Prada is just one of those names that is synonymous with quality, high -ashion and classic style. If you are just entering the world of high-end handbags or are a well-established fashionista with a significant collection, the wonderful designs produced for this season is reason enough to take a look!

There’s a sense of outdoor attitude in several major houses’ designs this season. Chanel started it off with a fashion show featuring a farm motif, complete with hay strewn on the floor and earthy albeit uber-high clogs! With the Prada Cervo Shine Bowler, I get a bit of that same vibe. I’m struck with the casual feel this bowler has from the lustrous camel leather. The curvy design of polished deerskin reminds me of a well-loved and maintained saddle. The exposed top stitching exucdes that artisanal craftsman detail continues that motif. This is definitely a bag to carry everyday. A real “workhorse” handbag for your wardrobe.

There is still a sense of sophistication to this bag with the double handled bowler shape that gives you the luxury – literally – of carrying it with more than denim and boots or clogs! It simply gives me the impression you’ll be able to tote this around for many years to come!
