Besides all the beautiful neon colors being a trend for this Spring 2009 handbag season, it seems like gorgeous shades of blue are also coming to be quite popular. My absolute favorite “blue” handbag for the upcoming Spring season is the Rebecca Minkoff Nikki in Cobalt, but I’m also loving the Prada Vitello Daino Tote. Metallic leather is usually not my cup of tea, but I must say the blue metallic on the Prada Vitello Daino Tote is stunning! Some features of the handbag are: it has double shoulder straps; a snap closure; two inner zip pockets; metal feet; and the not surprising, it is made in Italy. The Prada Vitello Daino tote also has snaps on the side to make the purse a little bit more roomier if you need to. Not that the handbag isn’t already roomy enough, with its height of 12 inches and width of 16 inches. Everything physically possible about this handbag is beautiful but the price, that is a whole different story.
Prada is known for their high end, luxury handbags that come with a high price tag. The Prada Vitello Daino Tote is currently available at Saks Fifth Avenue for $1,760. Shocked? I was too. For a simple, but yet beautiful handbag I think Prada went a little too high on the price tag. As I say often, beautiful handbag, not so beautiful price!
