Rebecca Minkoff Billy Woven Straw Clutch

I know it is January (A.K.A. the dead of winter). Spring and summer are the farthest things from most people’s minds. Yet, many designers are already releasing (or will very soon) their collections for those warmer weather months. That means bright colors and summer-ready materials like canvas and straw. Although these pieces are strictly seasonal, they can still be a lot of fun to own. The trick is to look for more affordable pieces. Right now I am really liking the Rebecca Minkoff Billy Woven Straw Clutch ($295)! Not only is it affordable, it’s really cute too!

Rebecca Minkoff “Don’t Bother Me” iPad Case

For Christmas, I bought myself an iPad mini. I tried to buy it when it first came out and it was sold out everywhere. I called stores everyday and dropped my electronic stores daily to try to get my hands on one. It was so hard to find one until I called a Best Buy in Miami and they had one 32GB White iPad mini left and they were willing to hold it for me since I had been struggling to find out. I originally wanted the 16GB but it was a dire emergency that I get one fast so I settled for the 32GB. I was wanted an iPad so bad because I am in Acting School and I have to buy books monthly. All my different teachers want me to buy different books that it was getting too costly. With an iPad mini not only are eBooks more affordable but I can also my notes in it and download apps for actors. I’m obsessed with my iPad mini, greatest invention ever!

With that said, I’m very picky when it comes to cases. I have to find one that I absolutely love. I looked for designer cases for about a week and being that the iPad mini is fairly new I couldn’t find one that I loved. I’m the type of person that unless I love something I won’t buy it. I ended up purchasing one on eBay that’s not designer but it’s baby pink and mint, which happen to be my two favorite colors. It’s gorgeous but I really want a designer case for it one day!

Rebecca Minkoff Studded Kerry Pouch

One of my favorite colors in the world at the moment is mint. I can’t get enough of the color and I’m absolutely obsessed with it. I do film on set frequently so I can’t have mint nails while filming. However, I was off for half of December for the holidays and you better believe I had my nails painted mint! The color is gorgeous and any fashionable accessory that I see in this color I instantly want! I’m also in Acting School at the moment and for Christmas I bought myself an iPad mini to store all my books in. You better believe, I searched on eBay for a mint case and to my surprise I found one that was baby pink and mint! I’m telling you, I can’t live without the color!

Rebecca Minkoff Blake

Rebecca Minkoff is no doubt one of my favorite designers. Her handbags are stylish and affordable. But they also have an element of predictability. You know what I’m talking about. Rebecca Minkoff has a very distinct style. Her designs have a little bit of edge to them. They are fun and flirty too! But there is also something else I have noticed. Most Rebecca Minkoff handbags have more relaxed shapes. And even those bags that are structured, the lines are soft. So you can imagine my surprise when I saw this new Rebecca Minkoff style. Introducing the Rebecca Minkoff Blake Satchel!

My Top Handbag Picks for 2012

This past year was filled with so many wonderful bags from so many wonderful designers. It is so difficult to choose just one as my all-time favorite for 2012. Lucky for me, I don’t have to. I was told I could have a list of my top picks. Admittedly, this was still somewhat difficult. But I think I managed to come up with four bags that are the best of the best. They are all something I think every bagista should consider adding to her collection. So check out my top picks below. They are listed in no particular order.

Rebecca Minkoff Studded Affair Bag. $425
I absolutely adore my Affair. It is such a sweet little shoulder bag. The pyramid shaped studs and classic flap closure design create the perfect balance between edge and sophistication. I also love the pairing of gold-tone hardware with soft black leather. It is such a great, updated look. This bag looks great with just about any ensemble, but personally I love it with a dressy top.

My Favorite Trend for 2012 is Highlighter Hues

When I was asked to pick my favorite trend for 2012, I had to stop and really think about it. There were so many wonderful trends this past year, it was difficult to choose just one. Bright colors, animal prints, polka dots… I love them all. But there is one trend that stands out from the rest. I mean, really stands out. I’m talking about the Highlighter Hues trend! I originally wrote about this trend last Spring. I loved it then and I still love it now. What better way to make a statement than with a “notice me” neon color? That is why I want to officially declare Highlighter Hues as my favorite trend for 2012! So if you’re still itching to get your hands on a delightfully neon piece, check out these suggestions below!

Cambridge Satchel Company Fluoro Satchel – $155
This bag is probably my all time favorite of the Highlighter Hues trend. The structured shape, the bright neon colors, and (of course) the awesome price tag make this bag an excellent choice. I love the flap closure complete with buckles.

My Favorite Designer for 2012 is Rebecca Minkoff

Rebecca Minkoff has always been one of my favorite designers. I remember when I first laid eyes on a Morning After Bag. It is such an iconic piece! And it just so happens that it is also the style that started it all. Debuting in 2005, it was Rebecca Minkoff’s very first design. The rest was… well, history! Over the years, Rebecca Minkoff has never failed to surprise me. Whether it is a new take on a classic or a never before seen style, the excitment never ends. So my love for this designer may not be new, but the fact that Rebecca Minkoff has held my attention for so long makes her my top pick for 2012. Not to mention she is beautiful too!

If I look back at all the beautiful handbags I’ve seen in 2012, I’d have to say Rebecca Minkoff takes the crown on designing the prettiest bags. If were to actually sit and count, I’m sure I’ve written about her designs the most this year on Bag Bliss. I feel like every time I’m browsing around Shop Bop I see a new bag by the fabulous designer. Rebecca Minkoff is by far one of my top 3 favorite designers. Her handbags are classic, stunning and timeless.

My favorite Rebecca Minkoff bag at the moment, is the “Honey” Clutch. This clutch is simplicity at it’s best. The simple design of the bag is gorgeous and the color is out of this world. Coral is one of my favorite colors and when you see it on an accessory the color just pops. I love coral so much, because you can match it up with so many colors. There are a wide variety of wardrobe colors that you can easily pair up with this lovely clutch.
