    Cambridge Satchel North South Tote

    By BrS · On January 2, 2015

I have had a love affair with Cambridge Satchel Company bags ever since they made their first appearance here on Bag Bliss. The company itself is still in its infancy (launched in 2008), but there is no denying that they have already shook the handbag world. Interestingly, the mother-daughter duo behind the name were inspired by vintage Oxford and Cambridge school satchels and, oddly enough, the bags seen in the Harry Potter movies. The result were some traditional looking satchels that seemed to capture the imagination. As much as I love the look of the original Cambridge Satchel Company bags, I am delighted to see that they have expanded their designs to suit other tastes. The tote you see pictured here is one of the new styles. Meet the Cambridge Satchel North South Tote!

Simplicity is key in Cambridge Satchel Company designs. I love the clean edges and structured shape of this tote. However, it is also important to keep in mind that these bags are rigid. If you are looking for something durable and can stand up on its own, then this is the bag for you. If you want something a little more pliable, then you are out of luck! The rigidness of this bag certainly has its usefulness though and I think this tote would actually make an excellent work bag. It has just the right amount of sophistication about it. I love the oxblood too! Not your traditional work bag color, but still very versatile.

Retails for $310- currently available on ShopBop!
