Malene Birger Meiko Safari Tote

I’m not too fond of the outdoors and I’ve never been camping. I would never go on a safari but I do have an obsession with most wild animals. The way they just roam around free in Africa is kind of fascinating. Very different than what you would see in the zoo. Ever since I was little I’ve loved lions and zebras. My astrological sign is a leo, so of course I would love lions, and I always thought zebras were beautiful. They were like the prettier or more exotic version of the modern day horse. To this day I would love to have a zebra roam around in my backyard. Would be kind of amazing to wake up too, especially since it’s perfectly legal to have one.

When I saw the “Meiko Safari” Tote By Malene Birger I squealed!

Alexander Wang Doodle Backpack

Hold the name brand calling for a second and give this piece one more glimpse. Surprisingly, this bag doesn’t belong to a juvenile centered handbag mogul; it’s actually presented by the creations of American fashion designer Alexander Wang. This is definitely not your typical Wang, if you ask me. The Wang I admire brings out the best hardware and structures an edgy piece can present, not so much ecstatic vibe and color. We don’t dislike the Walker Doodle Print Backpack; it’s just a very different interpretation of what Alexander Wang is about. As every well known name out there has fulfilled, a funky and loud piece is a must have in every designers collection.

Anya Hindmarch Travel Accessories

When it comes to my room, I’m a complete mess. My room looks like a tornado full of clothes, handbags and shoes hit it. However, outside of my room I’m very organized almost to the point where you can probably label me as O.C.D. I like everything to be in order and very neat. When, I’m traveling this little problem I have can be seen big time. I have to plan in advance, everything has to match and be in their own separate section. By this I mean, shoes with shoes, clothes with clothes, makeup with makeup and so on.

As soon as I saw the Anya Hindmarch travel accessories I was sold. This is exactly what someone like me needs. To have everything in order, while I’m traveling is a blessing and to have it done in a fashionable manner is considered more of a miracle. What I love most about them, is that they’re all labeled! This not only keeps you extra organized but it makes it much easier to find things. Instead of searching through a bunch of bags for specific things, the bags tell you exactly whats in them! Definitely my kind of travel accessories!

Bally Mac Bag

Here is a handbag designer that has sort of flown under the radar… well, at least my radar. Not that I haven’t heard of Bally before, I just haven’t paid much attention to their handbags (shoes, on the other hand, are another story). But after seeing the selection of Bally handbags over a Zappos, I think I might want to start paying more attention. One style that caught my eye in particular was the Bally Mac Bag.

Founded in 1851, the Swiss company is known for its handmade luxury leather goods. Each piece is painstakingly crafted in either Switzerland or Italy, where they pride themselves in their attention detail. This devotion to creating quality pieces that will last a lifetime is apparent in the Bally Mac Bag. The leather on this bag alone is enough to make a bagista go gaga! The lightly pebbled texture is delightful, not to mention soft to the touch.

Kooba Colby Convertible Backpack

After writing a recent blog post all about Kooba for The Bag Forum, I instantly became more intrigued about the brand. I’ve always known about Kooba, but I would say now I definitely know pretty much the whole story about how the brand came to be, and I’m also familiar with more of their purses now. I’m still in love with the “Malia” but the “Colby” is very intriguing.

When I was in high school, I thought I was one of the coolest teenagers because my Mom had bought me a Coach backpack. A majority of the high schoolers had Jansport backpacks but of course I had to strut around with a designer one. The “Colby” is definitely a bag I would of wanted to have in high school.

Balenciaga Neo Militaire Bag

The military trend was pretty big for Fall this year. It seemed like everyone was trying to get in on it, with some wonderful pieces (handbags included) as a result. But is it just me? Or does it look like the military trend is winding down? Well, apparently nobody told Balenciaga that! A little late in the game is the Balenciaga Neo Militaire Bag! It is an interesting piece that, in my opinion, is more functional than it is stylish.

Marc Jacobs Bal Harbor Julie Bag

When I think about the latest bags by the Marc Jacobs Collection, I think luscious leather, bold colors and extra add-on’s that will distinct your MJ’s from others. It seems like the odder it is, the better. But to my surprise, the Bal Harbor Julie bag looks quite different from all its other siblings. It lacks the quirkiness, an inventive silhouette and color… lots of it!

So as I feast my eyes on this boxy shaped flat tote, I can’t decide if I’m digging this very simple look or if I prefer the Jacobs designs as we know them. This natural grained framed tote shows the classic side Marc Jacobs has in him.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Jumbled Birds Scrunchy Tote

Well Marc, first it was dogs and now it is birds. Unlike the dogs though, these birds have no names. Who are the birds seen on the Marc by Marc Jacobs Jumbled Birds Scrunchy Tote? Are they birds that you see outside your home? Or birds that you have seen while traveling somewhere? Hopefully I will get a chance to see this bag in person. From the picture, the scrunchiness of the tote obscures most of the birds. The red bird is definitely a tanager though. And I’m thinking the blue one is a Lazuli bunting. Perhaps the brown one with the long peak is supposed to be a red-shafted flicker. Tell me Marc, am I close here? You should understand that since I am a biologist, I am dying to know!
