Marc by Marc Jacobs New Army Handhack

There’s this rumor going around that military-inspired pieces will be hot for Fall this year. So be prepared to see lots of navy blues, olive greens, and dove grays floating around! But is that such a bad thing? I mean, I really like neutrals that are a step away from the ordinary. Black is okay, but it gets kinda old after awhile. Plus I love the little military-inspired details that have been cropping up on handbags. Think blazer buttons, grommets, and buckles! And don’t forget the cotton webbing straps! That’s why I am really liking the Marc by Marc Jacobs New Army Handhack!

Balenciaga Folk Messenger Bag in Acier Blue

Functional as well as fabulous! I just found this amazing Balenciaga bag that’s perfect for just about any occasion. School, work, weekend, etc, the options are endless with this bag.

The body of the bag is made in a soft Acier blue suede, with dark silver toned hardware. All the signature detailing is there that anyone would identify as Balenciaga (except the yummy leather) – the classic studs and tassel detailing. Make note that the body of this bag is made of suede, so if you live in an area where it rains frequently, you may want to spray it down with a good protector. The top of this bag features a large flap with hidden magnetic closure, which is very important if you’re stuck in the rain and you have important stuff, like a laptop in your bag. Measures 13″ width x 11″ height x 4″ depth. Oh and also the shoulder strap is removable, if you ever feel like rocking the super oversized clutch trend!

Emilio Pucci Print Tote

I adore this Emilio Pucci Print. Alot of people associate Emilio Pucci’s signature bold, colorful psychedelic prints with summer, but the blue and purple colors of this version in particular is one that’s perfect for the transition from summer to fall. You can use it as a beach bag today, then in a couple months from now use it as a weekend or day tote! The body of the bag is made of durable grained leather, so it’s very durable. I attached a bigger image of the bag so you can get an idea of the detail. Love it!

The Pucci tote retails for just under $600 over at LuisviaRoma.

Alexander Wang Sydney Velvet Backpack

Alexander Wang has once again thought out of the box, taking the classic backpack style to the next level.

The body bag of the bag is completely created out of black velvet with a black chiffon drawstring fastening tie – the perfect combination. Other features of the design include a flap mouth covering, leather belt fastening, double shoulder straps, and a couple internal pockets, which is perfect for your wallet, keys or cell.

Make note that since the bag is made completely of Velvet, if you have any pets or if you’re ever within the vicinity of a furry critter, your backpack will be a magnet for their hair. A damp cloth can take care of the little spots, however if your cat decides to make a bed out of your bag -which my cat has has done in the past!! I would not recommend dunking it in water – the bag that is :) This bag is dry clean only, so just send it off.

Back to School with Designer Backpacks!

I know it is a little early to be thinking about school. After all, it seems like summer has just begun. But with all these new designer backpacks floating around out there, I thought I would give this post a go. When I think of designer backpacks though, I typically think of Juicy Couture. However, this most recent outbreak of designer backpacks doesn’t seem to include a single piece from the velour-loving company. But that certainly doesn’t mean that what I found wasn’t just as playful and fun! Some of these backpacks, however, are also down-right kiddie looking. So I’m warning you now, these babies aren’t for everybody. They would be perfect though for the little bagista in your life that is heading off to middle school or high school this fall. I tried to include a little something for everyone though. And in a variety of price ranges! So maybe, just maybe, someone who is a little bagista at heart might find something they like as well! Check them out below!

Juicy Couture Generation Y Exquisite Mess Tote

What a mess, and there is no joke to that. Juicy Couture calls it the Generation Y Exquisite Mess Tote. We all love those flimsy canvas totes that are great for kick around activities or to hit the beach in, but sometimes no matter how “inexpensive” they are for carrying a brand name to them, I don’t know if they’re exactly worthy of buying.

I like the oversized canvas tote look, but beyond that, it’s simply silly. Why the dramatic black paint strokes with a crooked bow application? When turned to its opposite side, you have a slightly visible description of how messy but lovely this rebellious tote is. All in what looks like glittery felt paint.

Tory Burch Louisa Convertible Messenger Bag

I have had an on & off relationship with Tory Burch designs as I’m simply not a big fan of logos for the featured design element in shoes, handbags etc….even though I have to admit that hers is a very attractive logo. With the new Louisa Messenger, I am certainly back “on” again!

Described as “24-hour chic”, this bag can be worn daytime as a messenger or evenings as a clutch simply by removing the handle. A trend we are seeing more and more of as consumers demand more options for their dollars. It’s a trend that I really like too!

Although I’m excited this bag can be carried as a clutch, I have to say my favorite element is the handle itself! Little gold squares woven with tan leather create a very sophisticated edge that contrasts nicely to all of the stud-work we have been seeing lately. The fold-over top can also be worn upright simply by moving the handle and tassle to the top of the bag. Thereby eliminating my biggest complaint of foldover-bags which is wasted space! It’s a nifty little trick that doesn’t lose much in the design department when worn that way.

Juicy Couture Sunset Strip Mary Jane Hobo

I remember the days when I was first introduced to the All-American brand of Juicy Couture. Everything was so glitzy, girlie, and it seemed like each detail was simply adorable. Whether you were a fan or if you simply disliked the teeny bopper style of Juicy Couture, today; Juicy Couture carries accessories for a whole new level of fans. Sure every once in a while a peppy bag pops out or if you simply search the sales bins, you’re bound to find a bright color-contrasting piece with a catchy saying on it. But within a couple of years and just like its first consumers did, the House of Juicy has matured along with their goods.

Juicy Couture Coastal Butterfly Tote

Does anyone remember the Juicy Couture Sunrise Tote that I wrote about back in March? After what seemed like the longest winter on record, I was ready to start thinking about beach totes. I mean, what better way to get yourself revved up for those warm and sunny months? Now I’m not saying that my feelings have changed about the Juicy Couture Sunrise Tote. It is still a really cute bag! But I recently came across this newer bag from Juicy Couture called the Coastal Butterfly Tote and… oh… my… gosh! What an adorable bag! I am in love with the vertical, pink and white striping. I could totally see myself sporting this bag at the beach for Memorial Day weekend. I also love the large butterfly graphic adorning the front side of this bag.
