    Ines Figaredo Unicorns Bag

    By BrS · On January 22, 2014

Ines Figaredo handbags have been described as a “new concept in female luxury”. Feeling culturally restless, Ines Figaredo was determined to resurrect the ancient art of Spanish leatherwork and jewelry-making. Each piece is handcrafted by Spanish artists to reflect her vision of creating a unique and luxurious collection of handbags. Her designs are reminiscent of far off places and worlds of fantasy. And only when you understand this, do you really start to appreciate her eccentric designs. Recently, I have really taken a liking to the handbag you see here. Meet the Ines Figaredo Unicorns Bag!

Wait, unicorns? Yes, unicorns! If you look closely at the mix of studs adorning this bag, you will see corkscrew-like horn studs AND a few unicorn heads. Intrigued yet? I will admit, the idea sounded a little odd a first. But the more I look at these studs, the more they seem to grow on me! I also like the way this bag opens up. Most pouch styles use something simple, like a drawstring. This bag has sort of a circular accordion closure made of crisscrossing pieces of metal hinged together. The only way I can think to describe it is to compare it to those old-fashioned wooden baby gates. The metal pieces neatly fold together to form an interlocking ring that is held together with a circular cap. I don’t think I have ever seen such a creative closure!
