Malene Birger Donnya Shopper

I’ve never really been a fan of Valentine’s Day but whether I like it or not, it’s coming! Right when Christmas ended, I started to see Valentine’s Day decorations, gifts and candy all over the stores. I understand the economy isn’t in the best shape but jeeze, let me get into the new year first before you flood me with all this mushy stuff. Maybe one day when I’m actually in a loving relationship I’ll give Valentine’s Day a chance until then, it’s just another Hallmark day to me.

As soon as I saw the Malene Birger Donnya Shopper I instantly thought of Valentine’s Day. I may not be a fan of the over rated holiday but I have to say I really like this tote! It’s simple, girly and to the point. I’m currently in the process of looking for another tote bag for school because I have to get rid of the one I have pronto. This is the cutest one I’ve seen and the price is pretty reasonable.

My Top Handbag Picks for 2012

This past year was filled with so many wonderful bags from so many wonderful designers. It is so difficult to choose just one as my all-time favorite for 2012. Lucky for me, I don’t have to. I was told I could have a list of my top picks. Admittedly, this was still somewhat difficult. But I think I managed to come up with four bags that are the best of the best. They are all something I think every bagista should consider adding to her collection. So check out my top picks below. They are listed in no particular order.

Rebecca Minkoff Studded Affair Bag. $425
I absolutely adore my Affair. It is such a sweet little shoulder bag. The pyramid shaped studs and classic flap closure design create the perfect balance between edge and sophistication. I also love the pairing of gold-tone hardware with soft black leather. It is such a great, updated look. This bag looks great with just about any ensemble, but personally I love it with a dressy top.

NetaPorter Bag Sale: The Row, Valentino, Anya Hindmarch

You guys must stop what you’re doing and check out the Net-a-Porter Sale ASAP! So many beautiful bags, shoes, clothing and accessories marked 70% off retail.

Here are a few of my favorite purse picks:

The Row Shoulder Bag. $1740 ($2900)
Sleek and understated. This may look like an ordinary classic black bag at first sight but it is far from it. Get this, the multi-function strap easily adjusts this bag to be worn on the wrist, crossbody, over the shoulder, even the waist (yea, like a fanny back. If that’s you’re thing). Or for a more polished look, remove it all together and carry it as a clutch.

Oscar de la Renta for Neiman Marcus x Target Floral Bag

When can you ever find a designer Oscar de la Renta handbag for under $100. The answer is never.

Neiman Marcus recently joined forces with Target for the ultimate collaboration. One of my favorite pieces, that’s also on the top of my Christmas list is this gorgeous Oscar de la Renta handbag. It’s not one that I would carry around at this moment but with it’s light beige and white floral design it would be such a killer summer everydayer. And with it’s basic classic silhouette and ODLR quality, it’ll surely last.

Marie Turnor Detour Hobo

Is anyone familiar with Marie Turnor? I had never heard of this designer before. However, when my fellow blogger Marissa wrote about a piece from this designer (The Lunch Bag), I instantly became intrigued. So I decided to do a little investigating of my own. Marie Turnor is the brainchild of Beth Goodman, a lingerie designer who began her career in New York. Later she moved to LA to became a stylist. Then in 2009, she decided to launch an accessories line based in California. The line takes inspiration from mundane objects like envelopes and paper bags. It was these simple designs that caught my eye!

RED Valentino “Ribbon-Print” Tote

I’m extremely girly and there’s nothing I love more than extra feminine fashion. I’m a bit extreme, I know, and most stylists would probably tell me to grow up. I tend to like all different types of styles though. The styles I like include simple, glamorous, classy, edgy and definitely girly. I love pink, I love crystals and I pretty much love everything a “girly girl” would like. One thing is for sure, I’ve always loved bows. Anything that has a bow on it always looks a bit more prettier, at least I like to believe so.

Maison Martin Margiela Leather Fold Over Tote

I love bags that can be styled two different ways. At the moment, I can’t stop sporting a bag I bought at Michael Kors. It’s black leather, with gold hardware, can be carried as a clutch but it also has a gold chain so you can use it as a shoulder bag. It’s a tough economy and the more versatile a bag is the better! With the ability to carry it a variety ways you’re able to style it up with different outfits and at different times of the day.

The Maison Martin Margiela Leather “Fold Over” Tote is one of those bags. During the day you can use it as a casual tote but then you can fold it over and carry it as a clutch, which looks a little more stylish to me. I would personally would probably use it more folded over unless I was carrying something large and then I would have to use it as a tote.

Alexander McQueen Studded DeManta

Baby Pink and Mint are two of my favorite colors and I’m seeing them non-stop this holiday season. I guess they are the “it” colors for this Fall and upcoming Winter seasons because the two colors are literally everywhere and I’m loving it! I’ve seen just about everything in the fashion world featured in these two colors but one of my favorite pieces in the Alexander McQueen Studded “DeManta”. When I think of studs, I envision them being on a bold and dark color. I would of never have thought to see studs on a pink bag but I have to say I like it! It doesn’t make the bag look edgy but just gives it more of a stylish look. It’s like a girly and more feminine take on an edgy bag.

Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC Bag. $195
I don’t think I know anyone who isn’t in love with Rebecca Minkoff. Her styles have a nice edge to them, without looking too trendy. I especially love the crossbody styles, like the Mini MAC. They are perfect for the girl on the go. Whether it’s shopping or running errands, nothing beats the convenience of a hands-free bag.
