As a blogger, I have been looking at handbags for quite some time. Nothing really surprises me anymore, I think I have literally seen it all. But this doesn’t mean that there isn’t the occasional piece that leaves me a bit perplexed. You know, that piece that makes you wonder why. WHY?! It certainly isn’t an everyday occurrence, but it certainly happened today! I am talking about this unusual-looking piece you see here. Meet the Christopher Raeburn Quilted Water Rat Bag!
In case you have never heard of Christopher Raeburn, he is the British designer who became famous for his use of recycled military fabrics (particularly, old parachutes) to create iconic outwear pieces. Most people probably don’t know that he makes handbags too. I sure didn’t! In fact, when I first saw this piece, I was thinking Marc by Marc Jacobs. After all, it is a rat and Marc has done rat-themed pieces in the past. So I was shocked to learn this piece was by Christopher Raeburn. And yes, looking at it has left me a bit perplexed. I mean, the whole idea of a handbag that is shaped like a rat is strange. I suppose though, if you are looking for something insanely unique, this would definitely fit the bill!
